BEST CHINESE / ASIAN SUPERMARKET NEAR SUTTON, CROYDON & KINGSTON?

Sutton is a great place for Hongkongers to access Chinese supermarkets. A new one opened up in 2022, and one more has just opened!

Ok Ok Chinese supermarket – new!

Near to the Morrisons Car Park entrance on the main A232 road, it’s not visible from the High Street, but can be seen if driving past Morrisons.
Paid a visit in mid January and it is very clean and bright. Prices seemed to be reasonable so definitely worth a visit.  Just a note there is a min £5 for credit cards/contactless payments, so worth bringing some cash.

sMart Chinese supermarket

New at the top of the High Street near the train Station, it is relatively small but clean and tidy and very convenient.

Wing Yip

Wing Yip has been our main supermarket for over 20 years. Only two in London, we are very fortunate to have one only 15 mins drive away. A major refurbishment has created a really spacious store with plenty of parking now on the upper level.
A major bonus is the Tai Tung Chinese restaurant which seems to have the same decoration as the first time I went – over 20 years ago! Very glad to say though the authentic Dim sum is still the best in the area – as seen by the long queues on Sunday lunchtime!

H Mart & Korea Foods

In New Malden/Kingston, both specialise in Korean food as well as offering more general Asian goods such as well as Chinese & Japanese. They are huge and worth a visit if you are in the area for something a little bit different. Parking is limited and there can be queues especially for H Mart.
