Airalo esim card review – Hong Kong & South Korea

How much was my Airalo esim card?

I purchased the Airalo esim card back in Sept 2023.

The price was US$13 for an Asialink 3Gb – 30-day esim package.
I got a $US1.95 discount, so it only cost a total of US$11.05

Airalo esim Convenience: 10 out of 10

Once my iPhone 14 was set up in the UK, it connected automatically to Hong Kong and South Korea.
No need to find an ESIM counter in the airport.
No need to join a queue and wait.
No need to remove my existing SIM card (which can easily be lost)
I keep my existing SIM card, and the airalo esim is used purely for data.
Therefore, I can keep my phone number for incoming calls or WhatsApp messages.
Just get straight onto the train or bus and start my holiday!

Airalo esim card performance in Hong Kong: 9 out of 10

I rate it 9 out of 10.
It connected and performed well in Hong Kong with no problems.
It was simple to set up and connected immediately and automatically when I landed at the airport.

Airalo esim card performance in Seoul, South Korea: 8 out of 10

The connection was again immediate and automatic upon landing in South Korea – Seoul.
It was essential as I needed to get to my hotel!

However, I found the speed was slower than in Hong Kong as I walked around Seoul.

My Airalo Summary

Convenience: 10 out of 10
Speed: 7 out of 10

Airalo esim Asialink: would I buy again?

Absolutely! It is so easy to use, and I keep my existing phone number.
The esim is used to provide data in an overseas country, saving me a fortune on roaming charges!
